Eligibilty Criteria

There are certain conditions like minimum educational qualification, age criteria, physical standards, and others that must be fulfilled in order to be eligible for Jharkhand Police 2022. The specifications of the criteria differ from post to post which are listed below:

Minimum Educational Qualification

The educational qualification criteria for fulfilling the eligibility conditions are given in the following table for various positions:

Inspector of Police Graduation or Equivalent qualification from a recognized University; minimum qualifying marks
Sub Inspector of Police Graduation degree from any recognized university; minimum aggregate marks required
Superintendent of Police Graduation from any recognized University
Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Must be a graduation degree holder
Senior Constable Should have completed 10+2 (senior secondary) from any recognized University or board
Head Constable Must have completed the 12th from a recognized board
Constable Must be a matriculation Certificate holder
Home Guard (Rural) 7th standard from any recognized board
Home Guard (Urban) 10th standard from any recognized board

Age Limit

The age limit for every post under the Jharkhand Police 2022 is different from post to post. Although a general minimum age has been set at 18 years, the maximum age for applying is 55 years. The age criteria of various officers and constables are given in the table below:

Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency

There are certain physical standards or bodily measurements that are required to apply for Jharkhand Police 2022. The standards are different for men and women and also depend on the category to which a candidate belongs.

There is no marking scheme for the physical efficiency test i.e. Race, but it is compulsory to clear this test. The physical standards for different posts are given in the table below:

Jharkhand Sub-Inspector of Police 2022: Main Exam Pattern

There will be 3 papers in the Sub Inspector of Police exam. Every question in this exam will be 3 marks, and negative marking will be applicable. The time duration for the Exam will be 2 hours. The subjects asked in all the three papers are given below:

Jharkhand Police 2022: Medical Exam Pattern

The candidates who clear the Written Examination and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) will be called in for Medical Examination. The medical test consists of a detailed examination of the candidate’s body like the eyes. Ears, an x-ray of limbs, and many more. It is very important for the police force to be physically and mentally fit and fine, that is why medical screening is conducted.

General Studies

In the General Studies paper, a candidate’s level of general awareness about Indian society, politics, environment, culture and economy. The questions may range from the events of national and international importance. The focus of the general studies will be on the state of Jharkhand, India and the neighbouring countries.

Knowledge about the State (i.e. Jharkhand)

In this paper, candidates’ knowledge about the state of Jharkhand is tested. Well, the job location is Jharkhand, so the candidates should be thoroughly well aware of every aspect of Jharkhand. The political conditions, the economic problems, the local culture and geography of the state should be known to the aspiring candidates. The knowledge about the recent events or any development and future plans related to Jharkhand should be on tips.

General Science

In the General Science paper, the candidates knowledge regarding scientific awareness and understanding will be tested. The candidates should know the clear basics of all the major topics of biology, chemistry, and Physics.

In Biology, more emphasis is on Zoological topics and human anatomy.

In Physics and Chemistry, more focus is given on the application part along with the concise understanding of the foundational definitions and laws.

General Mathematics

In the General Science paper, the candidates’ knowledge about the basic mathematical topics is tested. The candidate should have a clear base of his/her mathematical outlook. Some of the major topics under General Maths paper are given below:

Mental Ability Test

The topics under the Mental Ability Test range from verbal to non-verbal reasoning ability. The sub-sections include questions on jumbled paragraphs, summary questioning, logical reasoning, data interpretation, analogies, arithmetic numeric series, figure classifications, and similar topics.

Knowledge of Computer Basics

In this paper, basic knowledge about computer awareness like computer systems, data communication, operating systems, the internet, and networking will be asked.

Language/ Grammar Test

In the Language paper, the basic comprehension, and articulation skills of the candidates will be checked in Hindi or English Language. To tackle this paper, read a lot of good newspapers in the relevant language to conquer the grammar.

Regional or Tribal Language Test

In this Regional Language or Tribal Language test, a candidate needs to choose one language among the many options offered by the Jharkhand Police Recruitment body. The languages from which a candidate has to make a choice are given below:

Urdu, Sntali, Mundari, Ho, Odia, Sanskrit, Panch pargania, Khortha, Kurmali, Munda, Hindi, English, Khadiya, Kurukh, or Nagpuri.
