SSC CPO stands for Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization. It is a national-level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector (SI) in various Central Police Organizations (CPOs) such as the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), etc.
The SSC exam is conducted in three stages - Paper 1, Physical Endurance Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST), and Paper 2. Paper 1 is a computer-based exam consisting of 200 multiple-choice questions, which are divided into four sections - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Candidates who clear Paper 1 are eligible to appear for the PET/PST. Candidates who clear both Paper 1 and PET/PST are then eligible to appear for Paper 2, which is also a computer-based exam and consists of 200 multiple-choice questions based on English language and comprehension.

What is SSC CPO 2023?
SSC CPO stands for Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization. SSC CPO 2023 Dates
SSC CPO Exam 2023 is scheduled for the 9th and 11th of November 2023. Staff Selection Commission Central Police Organization Recruitment 2023 is conducted to recruit aspirants for the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police, Sub Inspector in CAPFs, Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF, Inspector posts, and Sub Inspector Posts.
SSC Application Form 2023

Steps to apply:

Eligibility Criteria
SSC CPO 2023: Nationality
Other than Indian citizens, the following candidates can apply:
- A subject of Nepal or Bhutan having a certificate in favour of their category issued by the Indian Government
- A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India
SSC CPO 2023: Educational Qualification
- There are no special educational criteria to be eligible for the SSC CPO recruitment exam. However, candidates need a Graduation degree in any discipline from an authorized University or any equivalent degree recognized as such by the Central Government on or before 01-Jan-2023.
- For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) – Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.
SSC CPO 2023: Age Limit
The candidates have to be of a certain age to be able to appear for the SSC CPO exam. However, certain categories of students also get age relaxations.

Exam Pattern
SSC CPO exam pattern is such that it consists of Paper 1, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper 2, and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). All these stages of the examination are mandatory. The details of the exam pattern are as follows:
SSC CPO Exam Pattern for Paper 1
- All successful applicants will be able to appear in Paper-I
- Paper 1 consists of 4 sections.
- Each section will have 50 questions.
- The paper will have a total of 200 objective-type questions.
- The duration of the test is 2 hours.
- The total marks for the test are 200.
SSC CPO Exam Pattern for Paper 2
SSC CPO Paper-2 will be conducted after the PET/PST Test for SSC CPO 2023 is conducted.
- The total time duration of the exam is 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours.
- The total number of questions asked will be around 200 and the maximum marks for Paper-2 will be 200
- The test will be of English Language and Comprehension conducted online.

Reservation
SSC CPO follows the reservation policy as per the guidelines of the Government of India. The following is the reservation policy for the SSC CPO exam:
- Scheduled Castes (SC) - 15%
- Scheduled Tribes (ST) - 7.5%
- Other Backward Classes (OBC) - 27%
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) - 10%
- Ex-Servicemen (ESM) - 10% (out of which 5% is reserved for direct recruitment and 5% for the dependents of servicemen killed in action or disabled in action)
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) - 4% (reservation in each category of SC, ST, OBC, and General)
Counselling
There is no counseling process for SSC CPO exam. Once the final merit list is prepared based on the candidate's performance in all the stages of the exam, the selected candidates are called for document verification and medical examination.
During the document verification process, the candidates are required to produce the original copies of their educational and other relevant documents/certificates. The candidates failing to produce the required documents or found ineligible in any way will not be considered for the final selection.
After the document verification process, the candidates are required to undergo a medical examination to ensure that they are physically and medically fit to perform the duties of a Sub-Inspector in the Central Police Organizations.
The final selection of the candidates is based on their performance in all the stages of the exam and fulfilling the eligibility criteria. The selected candidates are then appointed as Sub-Inspector in the respective Central Police Organizations.
