The Teerthanker Mahaveer University was established by an 'Act' (No. 30) of 2008 of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and was approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), since inception in 2008, vide letter No. F. 9-31/2008(CPP-1) dated October, 2008.
The University is located on National Highway-24, 144 Km from New Delhi. The University stands committed to the ideals of Lord Mahaveer - Right Philosophy, Right Knowledge, and Right Conduct in all the spheres of activity and aspires to be recognized as the ultimate destination for world class education.
The multi-disciplinary University offers career oriented programmes at all levels i.e. UG, PG and Doctoral degrees across diverse streams, namely, Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Nursing, Paramedical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Hospital Administration, Physical Education, Management, Engineering, Polytechnic, Law, Fine Arts, Jain Studies, and Agriculture to meet rising aspirations of the youth.
Summer Internship (SIP) is an essential part of the developing managers in their curriculum and gives each student an insight into the corporate world and the working style at real life situations in business spheres.
Upon the completion of the second semester of the MBA programme, every student has to undertake a 6-8 week of Summer Internship / Live Project at best possible organizations matching with his/ her interest and specialization.
The students are offered multiple opportunities in different organizations of repute for a period of about 6-8 weeks on a specific assignment in accordance with the subject specialization. This enhances the knowledge part and confidence for that particular specialization.
As a part of the SIP students are required to submit a Project Report on work done duly authenticated by the industry supervisors. A presentation about the work culture, organizational structure and business areas is made by the students and present to the evaluation team, thus forms the basis for the evaluation of the project work
The University has a special focus on hands-on training and thus it keeps its syllabus abreast with the changing needs of the Industry. In keeping with this intent, the University has been holding industry-academia interface at regular intervals and has also been inviting the representation of the industry experts in its academic body. The representation also helps the University to strengthen the course curriculum and hence increases the employability of the graduates. Several industry- academia meets have been conducted in prominent industrial towns in the close vicinity of the University like Rudrapur, Gajraula, Haridwar, Selaqui, Noida and Poanta Sahib.
Leading industries and associations like the Kumaon-Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Gajraula Industries Welfare Association, SIDCUL Manufacturers Association and Industries Association of Uttrakhand, Drug Manufacturers Association, Himachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries etc. have collaborated with the University thus helping the students gaining insight of the industry through special lectures by experts from the Industry, summer internships in leading industries and fruitful industrial visits.
In order to attract and reward the talented sports persons as well as enhance sport standards in the university, the following scholarship scheme has been approved by the competent authority for the various programs except D.El.Ed.(BTC), Collaborative, Dental, Medical & Allied programs.
