Food Technology deals with a blend of physical, chemical, or microbiological techniques and processes for transforming raw ingredients into food and also other forms in the food processing industry.
Food processing refers to converting the raw ingredients into edible components or transforming food into other edible forms. BE/B. Tech in Food Technology is a 4-year program. Food Technology deals with the various chemical processes that food products undergo to make them consumable and ready to market. You can pursue M. Tech in Food Technology after the successful completion of BE/B.Tech.

The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) is a pioneer Research and Educational Institution under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.
The Honorable Union Minister of Food Processing Industries has rechristened IICPT as the Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT) on 31st March 2017. In its upgraded form, IIFPT will focus on providing solutions to all food processing areas including fish, meat, and dairy products processing through intensive research and development activities.
The Institute is located at Thanjavur, the ancient capital of Chola Kingdom and the granary of Tamil Nadu.

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is the first Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute, established in India on 18th February 2010. The institute aims at catalyzing the transformation of the Agri-food sector in India. The institute has the vision to be a nodal organization for knowledge generation and translational science leading to value-added products based on Agri-Food biotech innovations.

National Institute of Nutrition– It is established in the year 1918. It is an Indian Public Health, Nutritional and Transnational Research center located in Hyderabad, India. The institute is one of the oldest research centers in India, and the largest center, under the Indian Council of Medical Research, located in the vicinity of Osmania University.
