NSTSE is a diagnostic test which helps students improve their overall learning ability and educational performance.
Thus NSTSE helps each student to know early, whether he/she has properly understood a concept, so that immediate action can be taken to correct the aberration and pave a path for improvement. Often, students develop conceptual gaps which increase as the students go to higher classes and turn those into a ‘phobia’ for the subject.
School tests - including board exams - tend to test children superficially, only to the extent what they have memorised.

What is NSTSE?
The National Level Science Talent Search Examination, commonly known as NSTSE, is a skill test conducted by the Unified Council, a professionally managed progressive organization, with an objective to identify and nurture the best brains of the country in the science discipline. Being a curriculum-based examination, the NSTSE critically assesses a student’s strengths and weaknesses on the basis of concepts.
Unlike the regular examinations, NSTSE 2023 measures what and how well a student has understood the fundamentals instead of memorizing the existing facts. The Unified Council has been successfully conducting NSTSE in India, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Yemen, Indonesia, Oman, Kuwait, Russia, Nepal, Libya, Bahrain, Iran, and Tanzania. Since its inception in 1998, the Council has been working consistently towards testing and promoting talented young minds, instilling a competitive spirit among them, and ensuring their bright and enterprising future through tests like NSTSE.
NSTSE Application Form
The NSTSE (National Science Talent Search Examination) application form can be obtained from the official website of the Unified Council, which is the organization that conducts the exam. The application form is available in online mode only. Here are the steps to fill the application form:
- Visit the official website of the Unified Council.
- Look for the 'NSTSE' section on the homepage and click on it.
- Click on the 'Apply Online' button.
- Register yourself by filling in your personal and academic details.

Registration
To register for NSTSE (National Science Talent Search Examination), follow these steps:

- Fill in the registration form with the required details such as your name, date of birth, email address, contact number, etc.

Eligibility Criteria
- As per NSTSE eligibility criteria, students studying classes II to X are eligible to apply for the exam.
- Students of class XI and XII (either PCB or PCM) can appear for NSTSE 2023 exam. However, there is no exam for PCMB group of 10+2.

Reservation
NSTSE (National Level Science Talent Search Examination) is a scholarship examination conducted by the Unified Council for students from Class 2 to Class 12. The examination is open to all students regardless of their caste, creed, gender, or religion. Therefore, there is no reservation policy for NSTSE.
NSTSE aims to provide an equal opportunity to all students to showcase their talents and skills in science and mathematics. Counselling

Application Fee
The NSTSE (National Science Talent Search Examination) application fee varies depending on the class or level of the exam. The fee structure for NSTSE is as follows:
For Indian Students:
Class 1 to Class 12: INR 350 per student per class
For Overseas Students:
Class 1 to Class 12: USD 15 per student per class
The application fee can be paid through online mode using a credit/debit card or net banking. It is important to note that the application fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-adjustable. Also, keep in mind the important dates for the payment of the application fee and complete the payment before the last date. Failure to pay the application fee within the given time may lead to rejection of the application.
Exam Pattern
All questions in NSTSE 2023 are objective-type, with a different question paper for each class. There will be no negative marking for incorrect or unattempted answers. The exam for each class will be held for 60 minutes (1 hour).
Students of class 3 to 12 have to answer the section on Critical Thinking along with the other sections which test them on the basis of reasoning, strategic planning and application, decision making, objective/ subjective analysis as well as logical and inductive reasoning. Maths and Science will be based on 75% of the syllabus of CBSE. It is also suitable for students studying in ICSE/ ISC or any other State Board.

Exam
NSTSE or National Science Talent Search Examination is a competitive exam conducted by the Unified Council for students from class 2 to 12. Here are some of the highlights of the NSTSE exam:
