Eligibilty Criteria

The minimum educational qualification required to apply for the ICLS exam is graduation, preferably in the fields of Accounts, Law, or Finance. The other criteria are almost the same as other posts for which UPSC conducts the examination.

Posts Educational Qualification
Sr. Consultant Candidates with academic knowledge in the field of Corporate law/ Accounting with work experience of 3-6 years.
Consultant Knowledge in the field of Corporate law/ Accounting with work experience of 1-3 years.
Administrative Officer A graduate degree and minimum work experience of 1-4 years in the field of HR functions
Company Secretary (Trainee) Candidates must have cleared CS Executive.
Stenographer A minimum work experience of 2 years and above in the field of a stenographer.
Graphic Designer Candidates must have work experience of 1-3 years in the field of design.

ICLS Interview

After clearing the Prelims and Mains exam, candidates go through a personal interview. This is done to assess the personal suitability of the candidate for a career in public service.

General Studies Paper 1 Current events of National & International importance. History of India and Indian National Movement. Indian & World Geography – Physical, Social, Economic Geography Indian Polity & Governance – Constitution, Political System, Public Policy, Panchayati Raj, Rights Issues, etc. Economic & Social Development – Sustainable Development, Demographics, Inclusion, Social Sector Initiatives, Poverty, etc. General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity & climate change General Science.
