PTET 2023 Weightage – Mental Ability.
|Analogies||This topic tests the candidates’ ability to identify the relationship between two sets of words and apply the same relationship to a new set of words. For example, if the relationship between “pen” and “paper” is that a pen is used to write on paper, the candidate would be asked to identify the relationship between “pencil” and “eraser”.|
|Series||This topic tests the candidates’ ability to identify the pattern and find the next term in a given series of numbers, alphabets, or figures. For example, if the series is 2, 4, 6, 8, the next term would be 10.|
|Coding-Decoding||This topic tests the candidates’ ability to decipher a code or a message based on a given rule. For example, if the code for “BOOK” is “XJJL”, the candidate would be asked to find the code for “PAPER”.|
|Directions||This topic tests the candidates’ ability to understand and interpret directions and navigate a given situation. For example, the candidate may be given a map and asked to identify the shortest route between two points.|
|Logical Reasoning||This topic tests the candidates’ ability to use logic and reasoning to arrive at a solution. For example, the candidate may be given a set of statements and asked to identify which one follows logically from the others.|
