JEE Mains Counselling

- Seat allotment: JoSAA conducts multiple rounds of seat allotment based on the candidate’s JEE Main rank, preference of colleges, and availability of seats. Candidates who are allotted a seat need to pay the seat acceptance fee and report to the reporting centre for document verification.
- Document verification: At the reporting centre, candidates need to carry their original documents for verification, including their JEE Main scorecard, class 10 and 12 mark sheets, category certificate (if applicable), and other relevant documents
- Seat acceptance: After document verification, candidates need to accept the allotted seat and pay the balance fee to confirm their admission. Candidates who are not satisfied with the allotted seat can opt for a float option to participate in the next round of counselling.
- Withdrawal: Candidates who have accepted a seat but wish to withdraw their admission can do so within the specified time frame. The seat will be made available for the next round of counselling.
JEE Mains Colleges
- Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs): There are currently 23 IITs in India, with the oldest being IIT Kharagpur. IITs are known for their academic excellence, research facilities, and strong industry connections. Admission to IITs is based on the JEE Advanced exam, which is the second stage of the JEE exam.
- National Institutes of Technology (NITs): There are currently 31 NITs in India, with the oldest being NIT Warangal. NITs offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, science, and technology. Admission to NITs is based on the JEE Main exam.
- Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs): There are currently 25 IIITs in India, with the oldest being IIIT Allahabad. IIITs offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in computer science, electronics, and communication engineering. Admission to IIITs is based on the JEE Main exam.
- Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs): There are currently 28 GFTIs in India, including institutes such as IIEST Shibpur, School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) Delhi, and Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST) Bhubaneswar. GFTIs offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in engineering, architecture, and planning. Admission to GFTIs is based on the JEE Main exam.
