In 2009, the university launched the National Facility for Drug Discovery (NFDD) in conjunction with the Commissionerate of Industries, Government of Gujarat, and the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The NFDD is a cutting-edge research and innovation center. The NFDD was renamed Centre of Excellence (COE) in 2014. COE is actively engaged in raising capital through industrial consultancy.
