Located in Richardson, Texas, the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) is a public research university. With a minor portion to the west in Dallas, the main campus is largely located in Richardson. It is situated alongside the Telecom Corridor in Dallas, 18 miles (29 km) north of the city’s center, and on the border between Collin and Dallas counties. UT Dallas holds property in Richardson, Texas, totaling 265 acres (1.07 km2) adjacent to the school and around 465 acres (1.88 km2) for campus growth. UTD received praise for its efforts to maintain a green campus in The Princeton Review’s Guide to 332 Green Colleges: 2014 Edition. This is the oldest and largest part of the campus. It is home to most of the academic buildings, as well as the student union, the library, and the athletic facilities.  This is the newest part of the campus. It is home to the School of Arts and Humanities, the School of Social Sciences, and the Naveen Jindal School of Management.
