IBPS SO 2023

IBPS SO stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Specialist Officer. It is a national-level competitive examination conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) to recruit Specialist Officers in various Public Sector Banks in India. The exam is conducted once a year, and the selection process consists of three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
  3. Interview

To be eligible for the IBPS SO exam, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university, and must be between the ages of 20 and 30 years. The selection process for the exam includes a Preliminary Examination, a Main Examination, and an Interview. The IBPS SO application form for 2023 will be available on the official website of the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to fill the IBPS SO application form for 2023:

Step 1: Visit the official website of IBPS, i.e., ibps.in.

Step 2: Click on the link “Click here to apply online for IBPS Specialist Officer Recruitment 2023”.

Step 3: Register on the website by providing your basic details, such as name, contact details, email ID, etc.

Step 4: After registration, you will receive a registration number and password on your registered email ID and mobile number.

Step 5: Log in to the website using the registration number and password provided.

Step 6: Fill in the application form by providing your personal details, academic qualifications, work experience, and other necessary information.

Step 7: Upload scanned copies of your photograph and signature as per the specified guidelines.

Step 8: Pay the application fee through online mode using a debit card/credit card/net banking.

The IBPS SO exam will have two stages: Preliminary Exam and Main Exam. The Preliminary Exam will have questions from English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. The Main Exam will have questions from the Professional Knowledge section as well, along with English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.

Exam Pattern of IBPS SO 2023

The exam pattern of IBPS SO 2023 will consist of two stages: Preliminary Exam and Main Exam. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Exam will be eligible to appear for the Main Exam. Here’s the exam pattern for both stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam:
  • The exam will be conducted online and will consist of 150 questions.
  • The duration of the exam will be 2 hours.
  • The exam will have three sections: English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • The total marks for the exam will be 125 marks, with each section carrying 50 marks for English Language and Reasoning, and 25 marks for Quantitative Aptitude.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  1. Main Exam:
  • The exam will be conducted online and will consist of 200 questions.
  • The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • The exam will have four sections: Professional Knowledge, English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • The total marks for the exam will be 200 marks, with each section carrying 60 marks for Professional Knowledge, 40 marks for English Language and Reasoning, and 50 marks for Quantitative Aptitude.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS SO 2023

The eligibility criteria for IBPS SO 2023 includes the following:

Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit: The candidate must be between 20 to 30 years of age as on November 1, 2023. Relaxation in the upper age limit is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government norms.

Educational Qualification: The candidate should have completed a degree in the relevant discipline for which they are applying, from a recognized university. The educational qualification required for each post is as follows:

  • IT Officer (Scale-I): 4-year Engineering/Technology Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation OR Post Graduate Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation OR Graduate having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level.
  • Agricultural Field Officer (Scale-I): 4-year Degree (graduation) in Agriculture/ Horticulture/Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Dairy Science/ Fishery Science/ Pisciculture/ Agri. Marketing & Cooperation/ Co-operation & Banking/ Agro-Forestry/Forestry/ Agricultural Biotechnology/ Food Science/ Agriculture Business Management/Food Technology/Dairy Technology/Agricultural Engineering/Sericulture.
  • Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale-I): Post Graduate Degree in Hindi with English as a subject at the degree (graduation) level OR Postgraduate degree in Sanskrit with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree (graduation) level.
  • Law Officer (Scale-I): A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council.
  • HR/Personnel Officer (Scale-I): Graduate and Two Years Full-time Post Graduate degree or Two Years Full-time Post Graduate diploma in Personnel Management/ Industrial Relations/ HR/ HRD/ Social Work/ Labour Law.
  • Marketing Officer (Scale-I): Graduate and Two Years Full-time MMS (Marketing)/ Two Years Full-time MBA (Marketing)/ Two Years Full-time PGDBA/ PGDBM/ PGPM/ PGDM with specialization in Marketing.

Work Experience: Work experience is required for some posts. Candidates applying for the following posts should have the required work experience:

  • IT Officer (Scale-I): One year of experience in the relevant field.
  • Agricultural Field Officer (Scale-I): Two years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Law Officer (Scale-I): Two years of experience in the relevant field.
  • HR/Personnel Officer (Scale-I): Two years of experience in the relevant field.
  • Marketing Officer (Scale-I): Two years of experience in the relevant field.

IBPS SO 2023 will accept applications from candidates who have completed their graduation from a recognized university or educational institution. Candidates can apply if they have completed their degree from any recognized university in India or abroad
