The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) conducts the Lower Subordinate Services exam for various posts such as Assistant Consolidation Officer, Marketing Inspector, Junior Assistant, etc. The exam is conducted in three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam is an objective type exam consisting of multiple-choice questions. The exam has two papers- Paper I and Paper-II. Paper I is based on General Studies and Paper II is based on General Aptitude.
  2. Main Exam: The Main exam is also an objective type exam consisting of multiple-choice questions. It is conducted for those candidates who qualify for the preliminary exam. The exam has two papers- Paper I and Paper-II. Paper I is based on General Hindi and Paper II is based on General Studies.
  3. Interview: Candidates who qualify the Main exam are called for an interview. The interview is conducted to test the candidate’s personality and knowledge.

Syllabus UPSSC Lower PCS

The syllabus for the UPSSC Lower PCS examination includes the following subjects/topics:

  1. General Intelligence Test: Analogies, Similarities and Differences, Space Visualization, Problem-solving, Analysis, Judgment, Decision Making, Visual Memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship Concepts, Verbal and Figure Classification, Arithmetical Reasoning, Arithmetic Number Series, Non-Verbal Series, Coding and Decoding, Statement Conclusion.
  2. General Knowledge: Current events of National and International importance, History of India, Indian Polity and Governance, Economic and Social Development, Geography of India and the World, Environmental Ecology and Biodiversity, General Science and Technology, Indian Culture.
  3. General Science: Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and their applications in everyday life.
  4. Elementary Mathematics: Number Systems, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics.
  5. Hindi and English languages: Comprehension, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Vocabulary, and Writing ability.
  6. Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer operation, Keyboard shortcuts, Computer Abbreviations, Internet, MS Office, and Operating Systems.

Exam pattern UPSSC Lower PCS

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) Lower Subordinate Services Exam is conducted to recruit candidates for various posts in different departments of the Uttar Pradesh government. The exam pattern for UPSSSC Lower PCS exam is as follows:

  1. Preliminary Exam: The preliminary exam is an objective type exam consisting of two papers – General Studies I and General Studies II. Both papers are of 2 hours duration and carry 100 marks each. The questions are multiple-choice based, and each question carries one mark. The General Studies I paper covers topics like Indian History, Indian National Movement, Geography, Economy, and Polity. The General Studies II paper covers topics like General Science, Current Affairs, and General Reasoning.
  2. Mains Exam: The mains exam consists of three papers – General Hindi, General Studies I, and General Studies II. The General Hindi paper is of 3 hours duration and carries 100 marks. The General Studies I and General Studies II papers are of 2 hours duration and carry 200 marks each. The General Studies I paper covers topics like Indian History, Indian National Movement, Geography, Economy, Polity, and Environment. The General Studies II paper covers topics like General Science, Current Affairs, and General Reasoning.
  3. Interview: Candidates who qualify in the mains exam are called for an interview. The interview carries 50 marks.

Eligibility Criteria For UPSSC Lower PCS Exam
