Right-wing student group the ABVP is well-known for its Hindutva philosophy. On college campuses, it has been charged with taking part in acts of violence and situations involving the community. The ABVP, however, also describes itself as a nationalist movement dedicated to the advancement of young.
The ABVP is not the only student group in India having ties to a political party or way of thinking. There are other additional student organizations, including the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), which is linked with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), and the National Students‘ Union of India (NSUI), which is affiliated with the Indian National Congress.
