2. IIT Bombay
Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is a public technical and research university located in Powai in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. IIT Bombay was founded in 1958.
3. IIT Madras
Indian Institute of Technology Madras is a public technical and research university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. As one of the Indian Institutes of Technology, it is recognised as an Institute of National Importance.
4. IIT Kanpur
IIT Kanpur was established by an Act of Parliament in 1959. The institute was started in December 1959 in a room in the canteen building of the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute at Agricultural Gardens in Kanpur.
5. IIT Delhi
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the Twenty Three IITs created to be Centres of Excellence for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India. Established as College of Engineering in 1961.
6. IIT Guwahati
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is a public technical and research university established by the Government of India, located in Guwahati, in the state of Assam in India. It is the sixth Indian Institute of Technology established in India.
7. IIT Roorkee
The main campus and the namesake of IIT Roorkee is located in Roorkee City in Haridwar District in the state of Uttarakhand, India. The Institute was initially built to train people for the construction of the Ganga Canal and Aqueducts for which the city is famous for.
8. IIT Ropar

Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar (IIT Bhubaneswar) is a public technical and research university established by the government of India in 2008, located at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
10. IIT Gandhinagar
Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar is a public engineering institution located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. Established in 2008, IIT Gandhinagar campus is spread over 400 acres of land along the river Sabarmati
11. IIT Hyderabad
Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad is a public technical and research university located in Sangareddy district, Telangana, India. IITH was founded in 2008, among the eight young Indian Institutes of Technology. It has 1,155 Undergraduate, 635 Masters and 1085 PhD students with 222 full-time faculties.
12. IIT Jodhpur
IIT Jodhpur offers a total of 40 courses at UG, PG and Doctoral level across Engineering, Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management streams.
13. IIT Patna

Indian Institute of Technology Indore is an autonomous public technical and research institute located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. IIT Indore was founded in 2009, among the eight young Indian Institutes of Technology.
15. IIT Mandi
Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is a public technical and research university located in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. Since the inception of the Institute, IIT Mandi faculty have been involved in over 275 Research and Development (R&D) projects worth more than Rs. 120 crore.
16. IIT (BHU) Varanasi
Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi is a public technical and research university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968.

17. IIT Palakkad
Indian Institute of Technology Palakkad is a public autonomous engineering and research institute located in Palakkad, Kerala. It is one of the five new IITs proposed in the 2014 Union budget of India.
18. IIT Tirupati
Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati is an autonomous engineering and technology education institute located in Tirupati. It started functioning from 5 August 2015 in a temporary campus housed at Krishna Theja Educational Institutions in Chadalawada Nagar.
19. IIT (ISM) Dhanbad
Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad is a public technical and research university located in Dhanbad, India.
20. IIT Bhilai
Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai is a public technical and research university located in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India. It is one of the six young IITs established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
21. IIT Jammu
