In the Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu, India’s Sai University is a private institution of higher learning close to Paiyanur on SH-49A. Since the founding of Annamalai University more than 90 years ago, this private university, which was established in 2018, is one of the first to be authorized by legislation in Tamil Nadu.

The Sai Education, Medical, Research and Charitable Trust, which sponsored the institution, is the organization that the founder-chancellor of Sai institution, Indian businessman K.V. Ramani, contributed more than 85% of his income to. The trust promised to provide 320 crore rupees (about $40 million) toward the construction of the university’s facilities.

The Sai University Act, 2018, was introduced after Ramani contacted the state government in January 2018. The Bill was approved by the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in July 2018 alongside the bill establishing Shiv Nadar University, creating the state’s first private universities in more than 90 years since the founding of Annamalai University.[5]Jamshed Bharucha was chosen as the founding vice president

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for admission to Sai University vary depending on the course and the year of study.

The cutoffs for postgraduate courses are generally lower than the cutoffs for undergraduate courses. For example, the cutoff for the Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics is 85% (General) and 80% (Reserved).
