Mechanical engineering combines physics and mathematics principles with material science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and broadest among the other engineering branches.
The mechanical engineering field requires an understanding of core areas including mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. In addition to these core principles, mechanical engineers use tools such as computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment, and machinery,
The jobs of mechanical engineers are mainly-
- Ranks between 1-50 in VITEEE are given a 75% tuition fee waiver for all four years.
- Ranks between 51-100 in VITEEE are given a 50% tuition fee waiver for all four years.
- Ranks between 101-1000 in VITEEE are given a 25% tuition fee waiver for all four years.
NIT Rourkela
The National Institute of Technology Rourkela was formerly known as Regional Engineering College Rourkela. It is a publicly funded higher learning institute for engineering, science, and technology located at Rourkela, Odisha. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and has been recognized by the Institute of National Importance.
The institute has the following engineering departments which offer B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Tech, and many more.
Some departments are-
- Department of Planning and Architecture
- Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences
- Department of Biotechnology and Medical Engineering
- Department of Ceramic Engineering
- Department of Civil Engineering
- Department of Food Processing
The eligibility criteria for B.Tech in Computer Science are that the candidate has to clear 10+2 from the Science stream and have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as their compulsory subjects, and Computer Science/Biology as their optional subjects from a recognized board.
Also, they need to appear and clear JEE Mains and JEE Advance.
The fee structure for the complete course is around 6.3 lakhs INR.
- To analyze problems to see how mechanical and thermal devices might help solve the problem.
- Design or redesign mechanical and thermal devices using analysis and computer-aided design.
- Develop and test prototypes of devices they design.
- Analyze the test results and modify the design as needed.
- Look-over the manufacturing process for the device.
