Panjab University is a public university located in Chandigarh. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a central, as well as a state university. It originated as an integral part of the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882.

Scholarship
As you are aware the National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) is implementing the scheme of Scholarship Trust Fund for and on behalf of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India for the students with disabilities, Under these schemes, 2500 new scholarships are provided every year for pursuing Degree and Post Graduate level professional or technical courses. Under this scheme, 2500 Scholarships are provided to eligible differently-abled students for Degree and Post Graduate level professional and technical courses from recognized institutions in India. The students may apply online. to June 30th, 2018 and submit a hard copy of the application duly recommended by the head of the institution/college along with an attested copy of requisite documents. The Scholarship amount comprises. course fees, maintenance allowance, books & stationary allowance and aids & appliances of the student. The detail of the scheme is available on the website of NHFDC www.nhfdc.nic.in. The copy of the advertisement is enclosed in Annexure-1. I would, therefore, request you to kindly issue necessary instructions to the offices/colleges/institutions under your jurisdiction to give wider publicity to the scholarship scheme (Trust Fund) for the benefit of students with disabilities. You may also consider providing a link on the websites of your department/organization/other departments to the above mentioned website of NHFDC.
