There are around 4,800 medical schools in India offering medical education, of which 80% are private, more than 15% government and the remainder public private.
Medical courses in Indian include medical and biological science, pharmacology, allied health, nursing, health and fitness in many specializations. Eligibility for taking admission in BDS
- Class 12 examinations with science courses such as physics, chemistry and zoology/botany must be passed for candidates
- The main subject in the qualification examination must have been English studied by applicants
- In addition, applicants must meet the age limits criterion, i.e. at admission they must be 17 years old

All India Institute of Medical Sciences is among the leading Indian institutes of medical science. AIIMS Delhi is also called. Established by Parliament as an institution of national importance in 1956, it was constantly ranked 1 third consecutive time in the category of ‘medicine’ in the NIRFs 2020, 2019 and 2018. Due to their complete teaching, research as well as patient care facilities it is easier to provide medical and para-health courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The campus area is 115 hectares. AIIMS New Delhi created a Facilitatory Division for Innovation in 2017 to accommodate professors and incubators of AIIMS. There is also a Bio-Park being built. MoU is also linked with additional incubators inviting companies for business initiatives. This is one of the BDS college.

2. Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh
Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) was founded in 1962 and constitutes an ‘Institute of National importance.’ PGIMER Chandigarh is one of the nation’s major institutes for education, medicine and education. It provides more than 50 medical courses at the levels UG, PG, Super Specialty and PhD. Over 600 highly trained members of the faculty are in PGIMER Chandigarh. It has everything you may need: hostels, cafés, hospitals, sports center, library etc. It has over 45 thousand books and 57 thousand journals. The British Library also includes the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Library, which enables its customers to use the services supplied by the UK library. It consists of more than 45 departments. This is one of the BDS college.
3. Christian Medical College, Vellore
Founded in 1900 by missionaries Dr Ida S. Scudder, the Christian Medical College is a private institution in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. He is known as one of India’s leading medical institutions and seeks to train students in the health, medical and nursing professions. It provides BA, PA and speciality courses such as diplomas, fellowships and distance learning. Every academic year approximately 2500 students are enrolled. The university has paid fees. For the two year diploma courses students pay roughly Rs. 1.5 lac and for postdoctoral fellowships Rs. 28.000. The College reserves 84 places of 100 in the MBBS category, and sixteen students are available for all, 3 for SC/ST and OBC. The government of India chooses one candidate. Applicants who apply for the MBBS course must submit their NEET test results. A computer-based test and interview will be used in order that students who apply for B.Sc., BOT, BPT, BPO, and diploma courses will be selected. This is one of the BDS college.

4. National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore
National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences is the country’s apex centre for neuroscience and mental health education. It operates autonomously under the Minister of Health and Family Welfare. It is an institute of national importance. NIMHANS was ranked 4th top medical institution in India to apply in the 2020 ranking of the NIRF for the very first occasion. This is one of the BDS college.
5. Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow
The Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) is located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, in the medical schools of medicine. The State Legislature Act was introduced in 1983. The institution’s name is Sanjay Gandhi. The Institute is acknowledged by the UGC and endorsed by the Indian Medical Council (MCI). SGPGIMS Lucknow was positioned fifth in the elite category of medical institutes in the NIRF 2020 ranking. It provides higher education, super-specialty education, training and research. This is one of the BDS college.
