NDA Examination
Common admission test, NDA is an examination for the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) as well as Navy, Air Force, and Army wings. It is two-phased examinations i.e. written examination and SSB interview which is performed twice a year.

National Defence Academy
In June and December, the notification to NDA is issued as it is released twice a year. Only UPSC performs the written examination.
- Nationality – Must be Indian
- Sex – The only male can apply
- Eligibility – Age – 16 1⁄2 to 19 1⁄2 years of age
- Height – For the air force, the average height requirement is 162.5 cms. The hills of north-eastern India, Gorkhas, Garhwal, and the Kumaon will earn a relief of 5 cm whereas the candidates from Lakshadweep will enjoy 2 cms of relaxation.
- Weight – Weight will be varying and must be related to body height.
- Length of thighs – 64.00 cms maximum, The minimum is not specified
- Length of legs –120 cms maximum, 90 cms minimum
- Height of sitting – 96 cms maximum, 81.50 cms minimum
- Size of the chest – The chest must be a minimum of 81 cm. The expanding range should be at minimum 5 cm after complete inspiration
- Educational eligibility – Must be passed class 12th with subjects of Maths, Physics, and English with at the least level of 50% marks in total and 50% marks specifically in English. Or else, 3 years of Diploma in Engineering at any officially recognized Polytechnic Institution with a minimum of 50% mark in total, and 50% in English.

Air Force Selection Board
AFSB aims at recognizing the ability of an individual as an Indian Air Force Officer. Gandhinagar, Dehradun, Mysore, and Varanasi have the Air Force Selection Board.
There are two phases of AFSB
Phase 1 – It is a screening test and the qualifiers pass to the next level. This includes:
- I) Officer Intelligence Rating Test
- II) Picture Perception and Discussion Test
Phase 2 – All eligible applicants are subjected to group tests that involve physical and mental work, Psychological tests, interviews, and Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS) test which is only dedicated to the flying branch. The work is carried out over 5 days and is carried out by GTO, interview officers, and psychologists.
Ground for both tech and non-tech service, Flying branches are available for entrance via NDA.
The B.Tech in NDA would be offered to all cadets with flying branch and ground duty tech and the B Sc degree would be offered to cadets with nontech ground services.
Medical Test
The Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME), New Delhi, or Institute of Aviation Medicine, Bengaluru, shall be requested by the Selection Board, for the medical assessment of the cadets. Mostly on basis of success in the written test and AFSB interviews, an All India Merit List is created according to medical fitness. Applicants chosen for Indian Air Force will be trained at Khadakwasla in the National Defense Academy, followed by advanced training in one of the AF Training Establishments. They are commissioned and appointed as officers at each of the Air Force stations on satisfactory implementation as permanent Commission Officers.
